Safe-T was designed as an enhancement to, not a replacement for,
the emergency services within the United Kingdom. By holding sensitive information
about our members, we are able to offer this potentially life-saving information
to the emergency services if it is required whenever one of our members triggers
an 'alert', a request for assistance.
When faced with an emergency situation most people forget about such important information.
They tend to panic and may become confused. Allowing our members to input
sensitive information into our secure database when they are not under stressful
circumstances means that everything is to-hand when/if it is required.
Another important benefit of the Safe-T service is that our members may trigger
an alert with us before a potentially urgent situation reaches the point of criticality
such as if they are being followed late at night whilst walking home alone.
By calling our dedicated number the member not only gains some comfort knowing that
someone else is aware of their situation, but also allows them to relay significant
amounts of information to the support person during the conversation.
All calls into and out of our system are automatically recorded so nothing is lost
in the 'heat of the moment'. If the situation reaches a point that requires
emergency situation attention, our support person will contact the required service(s),
offering all the information gleaned, including the whereabouts of the member in
distress.
This level of service is indeed an enhancement to the emergency services by taking
the call before the situation reaches criticality, recording everything that is
said leading up to the moment of escalation, and having to-hand all important information
about the member, including descriptive appearance, gender, address details, and
in case of emergency contact details.
