The 999 emergency service within the United Kingdom is for emergency situations
only. This valuable service can sometimes be abused by people calling when
a situation doesn't yet require the assistance of the emergency services such as
when a person feels intimidated if they feel they are being followed. With
our Safe-T service we filter out such non-emergency calls, but stay on the line
until you reach safety, or until the situation escalates into a 'true' emergency.
We are an enhancement to, not a replacement for, the emergency services.
Whenever you call the emergency services the operator typically will not know who
you are, where you are or anything about you. Subscribe to our Safe-T service and
when you dial the dedicated number stored in your mobile phone or landline our support
team will know everything about you that you have told us, including the following:
- Your name
- Descriptive appearance
- Date of birth
- Address details
- Next of kin
- Any allergies you may have
- Any regular medication you may be taking
- Any known medical conditions
- In case of emergency details (ICE)
- And even down to the level of "in case of emergency call at number 17 and ask Mrs.
Jones for the key to my house"
This level of detail, supplied by our members, is potentially life-saving.
Imagine the emergency services being called out to someone who has collapsed in
the street, someone who cried out for help but was not heard.
With our Personal Safe-T service the member would be able to summon our assistance
before they collapsed, and we would see from their medical details that they suffer
from diabetes, or asthma, or any other illness. Having that information available
to the emergency services whilst they were on their way to the casualty could mean
the difference between life and death.
